Friday 28th
Accommodation – parking on the oval with access to the community hall, having showers and toilets. Generators permitted from 9am until 9 pm. Arriving at different times throughout the day, provided a long catch up with members who have not been able to come along to previous functions. Members who arrived on Friday took advantage of the meals provided at the bowling club. Absolutely delicious and unbelievable prices. Naturally the bar was well supported.
Saturday 29th
Those who could not make Friday, caught up with the group later in the day.
Again, more chatting before leaving for the club.
Saturday morning, Deb organized hand-made decorations for people interested in showing off their creative talents, to adorn our Christmas tree. Everyone who participated had an enjoyable morning.
Elias finding the Christmas treeDeb’s helpers
Around 2 pm Saturday afternoon, Santa arrived ready to hand out the Christmas gift bags, followed by raffles and other surprises Deb had up her sleeve
Elias happy to see SantaAll of us with Santa, while Cooper and Fynn seem to be having a ‘stand-off’!
After the giving of the gift bags, Elias found he had a remote car, while Austin was fascinated with his bubbles gift, showering most passers-by with bubbles.
The adults then had various tasks to attend to, especially chatting over a coffee, tea or other beverage of choice. We had planned to be arriving at the bowling club by 5.30 pm in time to purchase drinks before seating at 5,45 pm as requested.
Christmas Dinner
Turkey, ham, roast potato and pumpkin, cauliflower cheese, carrots, peas and gluten-free gravy. Plum pudding and custard or fruit salad and ice cream, 2 courses for $25 per head. Again, this evening’s meal was spectacular and very generous serves. The tables were decorated with a Christmas theme, bon-bons, after dinner mints and candy adorned the tables for every guest, a very thoughtful bonus. The jukebox was playing Christmas carols, which soon became more popular music as requested. After our meal, the music was in full swing as were our regular dancers, joining in on the dance floor were Elias and Austin. Some of our group left within about an hour of finishing our meal, while others partied on for many hours, hopefully enjoying themselves.
Sunday 30th
All too soon we were packing up ready to leave but not before our general meeting, commencing just after 9 am and finished just after 9.30 am.
Deb received Lynn’s Trophy for organising Christmas activities. 2025 Annual Awards Presented: Ian Snatch Strap Award, Margaret and Derek – Trowbridge Award.
Have a Great Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year.
