Peel 4×4 Club – Dwellingup Night Trip (Februay 2026)
Nuddo’s Night Run
We all met at the Stud Country Tavern in North Dandalup and kicked things off sitting outside in the warm arvo, grabbing a feed before heading out.
The food ratings were a bit mixed (1 being the worst, 5 being the best):
Pizzas scored a solid 5
Other meals came in around 2.5 – 3
But the beers and drinks? Cold as they should be – so no complaints there!
Rolling Out
We departed around 7pm with a total of 12 cars, including new visitors Glenn and Ellie. Norrie and Paula took on Tail End Charlie duties for the first time, while Gaz and Donna held the middle position covering radio comms.
We entered via Edgar Road… well, eventually As trip leader, I drove straight past the turn-off with Matt and Claire close behind. A quick turna-round sorted that out, and thankfully the rest of the convoy was able to hold at the entry. We aired down on Edgar Road and headed off.
Into the Bush
Not long in, my Hema decided to have a hissy fit and wouldn’t connect to the satellites for GPS. So, we had to wing the first leg over Turner Hill until I pulled the classic IT move — turn it off and back on again. Problem solved. We cruised through the Dwellingup State Forest with all the spotties lighting up the night, enjoy-ing the scarp track overlooking Pinjarra — always a great stretch to drive. Things got a bit more interesting in the Marrinup State Forest, where we hit a well-rutted section that definitely got a couple of people excited.
Powerlines & Peel-Offs
We stopped for a break under the powerlines before pushing on again. At that point, 4–5 cars peeled off due to long drives home. The rest of us continued along the Powerlines track from Marrinup back toward Turner Hill, enjoy-ing the cool night air and smooth convoy flow.
Wrap-Up
We finished up at the servo in North Dandalup to air up and say our goodbyes. Thanks to everyone who came along, brought the laughs, and made it another cracking night run. Hope you all enjoyed the trip as much as I did.
